Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?
![]() |
With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience.
If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.

Customer Review
Great TV-1080. At 37, you need a 1080, with 32 inches or less 720 is much less than you are sitting at less than 4 meters. So if you wonder if saving some money and instead go with 720p, 37 "is the crossover point where 1080p is the best choice, because you see the difference in average viewing distances. Also, at 37 or more you really need to start investing in Blu-ray do not at this size too much respect from the regular DVD – Blu-ray is a format of 1080, DVDs are not. <br/>
The picture quality is very good no problems with ghosting, because only cablebox 60Hz from my Comcast HD and I – is my preference, the "Cinema", to use with some minor modifications. The sound quality is acceptable but not extraordinary in part because the speakers on the front of the viewer and have not found in most modern games, but some TV Samsung top speakers on the front. The sound quality media will never be great if you depend onReceiver. I have a simple set of two speakers in my living room, but there is only one audio output on the TV and optical cable. So when my receiver, which uses only analog cable is now obsolete. The remote is well with `useful Format button. This button is important to quickly resolve the report, if necessary. I almost bought a cheaper Vizio from Walmart, but he learned that the option is "Format" menu and buried in the 7 steps to get in and out -not worth the aggravation. Finally, all took a full 4-5 seconds. I do not know if this is typical of all these modern flat TV, but with it, no big deal, but worth a mention.
FWIW, I bought it at Sears, because my car died and I need something faster. At Sears I tried to choose between this and a 37 "LG, both cost the same. In any case, said the most important type of sales, the two were very good, but it would give the edge to Panasonic.
I veryAmazon recommends this package and the best price before taxes, it seems even better when you are not rushed and can be ordered on-line to make another $ 40 or more save on local sales tax.
Panasonic 37″ – Stephen K. Klawiter –
Simply boils my first flat screen LCD TV, but this is a much bang for the buck. No claim or buyers remorse yet.
Missing Parts, horrible customer service !!! – Ready2Fly –
The Panasonic has happened, I went to the base install.
It would have been 2 sets of 4 screws. There was only one game in the box. The screws that go with those on the other side were missing. However, I began a life was when I was about to sit to put on. Not much lives on the cheap.
When I called Panasonic, I dressed, and finally the accessories department is closed. How convenient! The customer service womanI wanted to save a part screws directly to buy Panasonic. She is from another planet? ! I'm not 30 miles and pay for the parts that are in a box should have been on! At this point I like'm frustrated and disappointed, not because a part is missing, but because they care about their customers. I think I went with Toshiba and Sony should have instead. If Panasonic can not send me the screws, they can go screw itself, and I'll be back on TV.
