Customer Review

I like this TV, but it has its problems can be solved with an upgrade from Panasonic. If the HDMI cable the picture is good, but you have sound problems, such as the sound of a couple of hours is good, then go wrong. I came to believe a TV, it was television, but come to find that there is a problem that Panasonic does not say until it happened! You have the technicians in this form and send a SD TV is the update, which should be fixedAudio problem, they say, that everyone thinks that LCD televisions are still kind of like a TV picture tube former, but none of this is TV on a computer and need improvement, as does your computer. Oh, and there is no charge for this patch, Panasonic will send you a free upgrade. I hope this helps others on this LCD TV to buy. Enjoy.

Just pray it works. . . – Joanna Pierce – Weaverville, NC US
Before the break (after less than six months), it was wonderful to watch TV – not too expensive, great image, etc., etc., but. He held no communication with three weeks ago, and took us to the local service from Panasonic. Therefore, it was a nightmare. Panasonic has the worst customer service ever. We guarantee, which apparently Panasonic, we can handle terribly, with no effect. The piece is in order, and no, we leavePanasonic speak for everyone working in the department of security. We can not say when the part is not, we will be a new TV, do not give you a loan, no we do not care that you do not have television. We will never, never buy Panasonic.

Panasonic TC-P65S2 65-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV Specifications

Building on its award-winning 2009 Plasma line, Panasonic’s 65-inch VIERA TC-P65S2 Plasma HDTV features a new panel with NeoPDP technologies that provide the best balance of black and white under brighter environments while also offering higher energy efficiency. The new NeoPDP Plasma panel also further reduces reflections and creates sharper pictures with higher contrast in brighter environments. This S2 series model provides 1080p resolution, full-time 1080 TV lines of moving picture resolution, and 600Hz Sub-field Drive for superb motion clarity.

This and other models in the S2 line offer Panasonic’s VIERA Image Viewer feature, which enables you to play slideshows of JPEG images stored on SD memory cards, as well as the VIERA Link feature for controlling a variety of compatible components–from Blu-ray Disc players to digital cameras–through a single remote.

Adhering to Panasonic’s commitment to the environment, this VIERA model–as well as all 2010 models–features improved power consumption and meets the new, more stringent Energy Star 4.0 requirements. And you’ll get a long Plasma panel life of up to 100,000 hours–more than 30 years of viewing when watched 8 hours a day–before the brightness of the panel decreases to half.

Panasonic’s VIERA S2 series Plasma HDTV.

Key Features

NeoPDP: By redesigning the Plasma panel’s cell structure and developing an innovative new filter, Panasonic has tripled the luminous efficiency (compared to 2007 models) of its VIERA Plasma HDTVS–resulting in stunningly beautiful images while also reducing power consumption.

1080 Moving Picture Resolution: With 1080 lines of moving picture resolution and integrated NeoPDP technology’s high-speed drive performance, the display time for each image frame is shortened to minimize afterimages, making decisive calls in football matches and delicate motions in figure skating performances appear crystal clear.

600Hz Sub-field Drive: 600Hz technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images with 1080 lines of resolution. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology, which converts the motion in each scene into data. And each frame is practically displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects (see an illustration of 600Hz technology).

VIERA Image Viewer: View full-HD images with the integrated SD card slot, enabling you to view JPEG photos captured from your digital camera or camcorder on the big screen. Navigate your images via an easy-to-use thumbnail display.

VIERA Link: Allows the interlinked operation of various AV devices–from DVD and Blu-ray Disc players to home theater sound systems to digital cameras and camcorders–using only the VIERA remote control by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable (see pop-up illustration).

Game Mode: With Game Mode, quicker image response increases the enjoyment of video games when a game console is connected to the TV. What’s more, VIERA produces the dark images in video games more clearly. This mode works with the anti-image retention (wobbling) function, too.

Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?

HDTV Size chart With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience.

If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.

  • Minimum size = Viewing distance/3
  • Maximum size=Viewing distance/1.5

Customer Review

I spent the last two months researching my next TV purchase. I am one of those people too research the pros and cons for each major purchase. I explicitly stated at the beginning of my quest to buy a TV for my basement finished. Since I can easily control the ambient light virtually any display technology to the table – Plasma, LCD, LED, LCD, DLP, etc. I avoid the picture quality DLP sets love, but eventually decided that the technology primarily because ofthe size (width) and the fact that I eventually need to replace a light bulb. I decided against the traditional CCFL LCD displays, despite the possession of a Sharp Aquos LC46D84U. Essentially left me with the LCD display LED and plasma technology. After back and forth, I finally finished the decision, go plasma. I believe that ultimately the deciding factors for me were the image quality and overall cost.

I'm with my TC65S2 about the last 2 weeks and am absolutely planning for the imageQuality. I'm really surprised at how good the display looks like when my Sharp Aquos. black levels are incredibly detailed, tintenschwarzem let my gaze Aquos "shows as gray instead of black only to create a real level. Out of the box the TV came on 'setting to live, the color makes an impressive" pop " on screen, but is distorted tones a little and makes people look a bit 'orange. I used my DVE HD Basics disk calibrating my TC65S2 me. E'probably not as good as a professional calibration, but I feel quite satisfied with the results.

The TV has additional settings such as "cinema" and "Game". I have used both and I am glad to say that the settings are really helpful. I use a PS3 for both games and watch Blu-ray. Setting the film in movie playback BD reduces the brightness and the movies are a "warm" color setting similar to the movies. Setting 'Game' was impressive, and alsomaintains a good black level, increasing the overall color. I can honestly say that after playing God of War 3 on my Aquos, and again on this series, as another game. GoW3 There are many areas that are very dark and are now noticing that the data not only to my Aquos. Everything seems cleaner, more detailed and accurate colors.

Aesthetically, it seems Panasonic course duration Samsung, Sony and Sharp. While companies have investedsignificantly their views on everything from remote bezel with Panasonic has a cleaner, easier research. Personally I have no problem with the soft look – I'm more interested in image quality than anything else. He said the TV has a beautiful piano-black glossy surface. This continues with the rather simple wedge-shaped stand that is included. The remote control can, unfortunately, a bit 'to be desired. Perhaps more important, is not backlit. The simple thingssuch as adjusting the volume in a dark room are not only affected by some form of key, but the entrance is not, for example. I think the G-2x & Panasonic Plasma TV to better control and backlit remote. After the first week or so I finally had time to get my Harmony to program my new TV and do not want to give up all the Panasonic remote.

The TV speakers included are adequate but not impressive. Honestly, 65 years: "I think most people who buy something likeAnd this for a home theater and surround sound. I used the supplied speakers for about a day before I went to my home theater speakers.

Features such as the S2 can be called "bare bones" by some. Personally, I was on the fence of a G25 or jumping up to VT (3D) series. Ultimately, however, I think two things, S2 wavered. First, the size, to create a home theater, and the G25 was to 54 floors. "Panasonic makes a 65" is that VT25Full-HD-3D, however, that is set around the dollar sign $ 4,000. With a limited offer 3-D on the market today, I just could not justify the price. Secondly, the additional bells and whistles in the set more expensive as the G25 and the VT series are nice although I'm not sure how often I watch YouTube videos or listening to Pandora radio on my TV. Integrating Netflix is probably the best feature, but I always thought with my PS3. For someone looking for a TV with a big picture andis not really interested in peripheral functions, S2 is the way to go!

Finally, for those who are not aware of Panasonic is a bit over recent 'scandal – at least for AV enthusiasts – with its plasma televisions. It seems that, in varying degrees, have begun to lose the use of plasma TV Panasonic's deep black levels. There are many discussions on different positions on the AV of the problem, but, as noted by the editors of CNET testing occurs and this is a problem with the 2009 andprevious series. For S2, Panasonic is using a new panel Neo-PDP and remains to be seen what will happen to be. This was a problem that almost derailed my purchase of this set. But after reading more about the topic and the fact that the gradual change – not something that happens overnight – I felt like I was back and make the purchase. I will follow up in coming months on this story and give an opinion if necessary. I hope that by 2010, Panasonic has managed to mitigatethe problem. Time will tell.

For more information:

– In this box, TV weighs 165 pounds! The TV weighs 123 pounds and 137 pounds with the support included. Ensure adequate assistance in the creation have this TV! Fortunately, Panasonic handles on the back of the set designed by a little 'less cumbersome.

– I noticed that when you use HDMI directly to my PS3, I can use some of the Viera-link functionality. For example, if I switch to the TV in myPS3 automatically turn on my PS3. Kind of a nice feature that I thought was only compatible with Panasonic VIERA Link products are controlled.

– These properties 3x HDMI inputs and 2 component inputs x. There are additional inputs for composite and SDHC. The S2-Series lacks much of the additional inputs that you win with G2x or VT-series such as USB, Ethernet, RS-232C, PC, etc.

– For example, a large plasma TV, the S2 does not generate much heat as Iexpected. Even after recently watched a movie and then a long football World Cup on TV was not hot.

————————————————– ——————-

UPDATE 7/5/10:

A small annoyance that I noticed today is that the volume control are not unique for input. No big deal if you're a home theater system that the TV volume does not matter – just something that I notice some 'work with my setup.

Customer Review

TV really delivers where it counts: image quality. The accuracy of color that almost perfectly, since it is directly out of the box. The tones are not so many LCDs and contrast is well saturated. The A-IPS panel makes this series the best viewing angle of an LCD on the market with absolutely no color change and minimal differences in brightness even in the most extreme angles have. The black levels are great, but some of the devices competing with VA panels are better at thisto consider. The only real flaw with this device is the remote, not the same distance, but the receiver of the TV. You have to be that the remote directly at the IR receiver to work for them properly. Otherwise, this TV for use as a Media Center and HD computer screen is fantastic. I thoroughly before deciding to purchase, and there was this LNA650 and Samsung. Both series are superlative, but the Panasonic is just that much better.

Problematic remote control is a deal breaker – Jonukas – Bloomington, IN
Panasonic seemed to be a good company, and we had good results with their products than others, but it does say I'm sorry that this is not the case this time.

The problem with this model (as others have noted) is the remote control. Unless you're standing in front of the TV, the remote is responding. In my troubleshooting, I discovered that this problem is most noticeable when the TV has a little '. You can not react with the remote, but some controlsin less than 60 ° and 8 feet away from the TV. According to the TV for a while '(~ has 15 minutes) the remote is a bit' better, but we still have problems, where we found dead zone / corner where the remote does not work anymore. We lean over from where we sit and wave the remote around to try to get the answer to your TV.

I just called Panasonic about this issue and the first solution is to send me a new remote control. This is incorrect. The second call resulted in the IRBoard and the plastic window replaced. Although this initially seemed to help, I found the problem is still there on a cold start. In the third call, the man is out of repair and replacement of the entire back wall. However, the problem persisted. At this point, how could any part that has not been replaced, and since the other notification here the same problem, I concluded that this is a matter of design came with the TV.

The warranty on this TV has now expired, but beforeit did, I asked Panasonic to support the withdrawal of the TV or give me a different model, it will work. I say that a field representative contact me. I'm still waiting to hear from you.

No expert here – Bonita Kale – Cleveland, OH, USA
No expert here, but we love this TV. No problem viewing from the side. The control system works well and is working on our VCRs and DVD players, although they are different brands. Somewhere in the years after we bought a television, things went much better.

Our TV is against a picture window, is still a problem, but much less of a problem with this model LCD that with our old TV fat.

If we used to buy new electronics every few years, I havehas not so much (about $ 880 was spent), but I know it will require much more time before replacing them, I wanted something I could live with one or two decades to get.

Between work, home and my parents, I bought four of these Panasonics. You have to use good picture quality and easy to connect. The SD card reader is not buying that super-slow (rarely use) and connect the iPod is cool, but we never used. The remote is good and easy, my 70's parents are easy to navigate. And 'to receive the signal surprisingly large free TV broadcast HD signal from an antenna, DVD and Blu-rays look good. This is an easy720 HD-TV at a reasonable price and offers a superior image to one another there.

No Audio Out – Robin E. Grausam – Lunenburg, MA
We love everything about our TV, but not audio-out is very frustrating on a daily basis. The sound is incredibly low when playing a DVD, to the point that we need to put the volume to maximum. If we were a speaker this TV would be great, but we are stuck with this so we had to do.

1 year and up – Z. Rush –
It also has more than a year now, but the sound is really low on them. I must feel in order to increase the volume + nothing 70. Is there anyone with similar problems?

I am not an expert on LCD TV, someone just needs a new TV. It will then be used in the bedroom, but now is in the family room. Although not a huge space, opens to the kitchen and the ceiling is arched. For months I studied reviews of the various models on the internet hoping to find, at least, to prevent manufacturers, problems that had service problems, along with the brand had the highest image quality rating. I also visited the showroom to seelooked better to my eye.

In my research I narrowed my search to a 720p, 1080p, because even if the price creates a superior image quality is not as critical on a 32-inch TV or smaller. To the extent that the new TVs, usually in March, was my intention to buy its way out and using the settlement price. Unfortunately I waited too long, and the two decisions that had to fire both were not available. TV meets my needs, was the price is right, and Panasonic has been one ofThe two brands that I had resolved on.

Handy and easy, out of the box all that was required by the State along with a few screws and then secure them with a few component for TV. I had a composite video / audio cable, which is good, because Panasonic does not include one. The cable consists of three male connectors at both ends – one red, one white and one yellow. Are not red and white for left and right audio and video, the yellow one. There are connectionsthe back of the box and cable TV with the same colors were so easily connected – Video output on the decoder and video to the TV. An additional step that I took to get my HD programming of local stations' was a basic indoor antenna by screwing the antenna in the name of the TV socket on the back-hook. Gave me two advantages – have been able to see the HD content in full HD without increasing the cost of my plan of basic cable – the cable and if I can do is watch TV.
<br/> I have the batteries (included) into the remote and turned on the TV. The first screen to the desired language (English, Spanish or French), next to "Display Mode – home use or store the demonstration choose asked. Then adjust the screen image has come and I would leave the default" Vivid (select Vivid, Standard, Movie, Game, or are available on request.) The darkness of the room will dictate what looks better, and the default settings are easily changed by clicking on the remote control – menu, tools, reset to default settings. Then you go to auto channel set-up, but if you use a cable, select "unused". If you have an antenna, select "Antenna" and then select "Start" to scan for channels. Next is an option for each of the inputs for the label – antenna, DVD player, cable box, etc. then the screen to set the clock for year, month, day, hour and minute. The completion message appears and you're done.

The TV is connected to a PC so it can be used as. Monitor I'm an episode of 24 during the Olympic Games. The website offers a view of the network of current season episodes, so I connected the HDMI cable from my laptop right in the TV HDMI port on the back. This allowed me to watch lost television episode, but my laptop's small screen.

The speakers are one-way 10 watt speakers and typical speaker on television. Note that there is no analog audio output or headphone jack. It is an opticaldigital audio output. I did not connect separate speakers and a receiver to improve the sound, at least not yet, but if the sound is a fundamental concern that you probably want to explore the possibilities.

The picture is absolutely fabulous and surprisingly, when a severe angle of view, there is no loss of quality. My only complaint is that the volume change is not essential as we rise. The TV has a maximum reasonable, but if the setting30 and it takes a little 'stronger, which can take up to 60 before you notice an increase in the sound. The steps seem too small.

The TV has a glossy "piano" black box, that some people feel is a maintenance problem, but fingerprints and dust thoroughly clean with a microfiber cloth and I like the look.

The set comes with a warranty of twelve months, but I bought an extended warranty for a further two years from Square Trade because it is a new model andsuch, has no history. I use the set for two weeks and so far is completely without problems, and I am very happy with the purchase, but I'll update the post if I encountered problems.

Great Bed Room TV – The Country Squire – In a Pin Oak Flat in Arkansas
I was looking for a bigger TV for the bedroom and chose 32-inch Panasonic for its image quality and reliability good I Have Another TV from Panasonic that I bought for my living room experience with a few years ago. The new Panasonic was purchased at Best Buy for $ 410 and is a new model for reviewing such substitution Consumer Reports, which was evaluated as a CR recommendation. The TV was easy to configure and image quality is great. This is the ideal size for a bedroom orTV room. The 720p is a 32-inch TV, 1080p is a nice set of this size or smaller is required.

Great HD TV at Bargain price – David Felder –
Panasonic Viera TCL32C22 bought the PC Richards at NY NJ area store unit. minimum price was $ 399, but I paid $ 349

Let me start by saying I own a video production company, so I sit watching TV all day. With HD-TV, the first time on the market, I was impressed with the quality. Further examination of more HD-TV I saw terrible artifacts due to MPEG-2 compression used to transmit signals.

After hooking up to my FIOS HD boxan HDMI cable and got the first channel I was on the YES network, because I know that will be sent to NY Yankees games in HD. I was very happy with the sharpness and colors impressed. There were no visible artifacts, even when sitting a few inches from the screen. I surfed through the channels in HD and found varying degrees of images. Some channels just stretch the image and suggest a "logo" HD on it, so you really need to get to a high definition broadcast trying to evaluate it.
<br/> The next step was to connect a DVD player with a set of analog component cables. I chose two DVDs: The BBC series "Planet Earth because of the beautiful photographs in it, and the Hollywood film" There Will Be Blood, "both for photography and sound.

"Planet Earth" is displayed in widescreen DVD / TV combination without me setting anything. From ten feet, the photos were beautiful. The color was rich and alive. Manufactures screen pages, black bloc wasobvious, but when I sat a few feet away, the MPEG-2 artifacts disappeared.

I uploaded "There Will Be Blood" in the DVD. The picture looked great and the sound was fantastic.

UPDATE July 22, 2010
Had a temporary problem, was not sure if the Blu Ray player, the FIOS box, or monitor Panasonic, but eventually discovered. Sometimes after the monitor was at least a couple of hours, the audio goes nuts. I can not describe how it sounds, dialogue descends to about 10% clay, in a voice-over-modulated distorted echo of the same dialog box (or other) plays about 90% of the soundtrack. It means that you can probably do dialog if you really listened carefully, but who wants to see a program like this?

At first I thought it was my DVD player. I recently purchased the Panasonic Viera Blu Ray Player(What's not, incidentally, is 100% compatible remote control) and I found still had time to watch a DVD the problem. The problem occurs even watch streaming video on Netflix Blu Ray.

Turn off your monitor, then again, remove the problem. Only, make sure you turn off the monitor with the FIOS remote because the remote monitor and Blu Ray (clear blue ray disc on the top menu).

Not yet decidedBut if the problem is severe enough to bring me back to TV. I did not have the box, and I'm sensing a lot of grief from the dealer. . .

Motion Focus Technology
Even fast-moving scenes are displayed sharply and clearly. With a 60Hz video signal input, 120Hz Motion Picture Pro 3 makes 120 frames/sec from 60 frames/sec. This increases the frame count to allow natural frame-to-frame transitions, for smooth motion images with high resolution. VIERA also uses motion focus technology that greatly enhances resolution.

Wide Viewing Angle
The wide 178 viewing angle ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight’s wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response.

VIERA Image Viewer
It’s easy to view full-HD images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos right after you take them. Simply insert an SD card into VIERA to display photos on the large screen.

You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects. It’s much more fun when you can view them on a large-screen HDTV with family and friends in 1920 x 1080-pixel high definition and a wide 16:9 aspect ratio.

Fine Black Panel
Panel reflections have been reduced to half those of conventional panels, to sharpen images and reduce glare. This also helps to unify the panel design with that of the VIERA lineup.

VIERA Link
VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable.

VIERA Tools
With the new VIERA Tools user interface, simply press a button on the remote control and icons such as the photos or movies from the menu screen appear. Now you can just select the one you want. This kind of easy operation means you have more fun and less hassle.

Game Mode
In Game mode, quicker image response increases the enjoyment of video games when a game console is connected to the TV. What’s more VIERA produces the dark images in video games more clearly. This mode works anti-image retention (wobbling) too.

Customer Review

This is my first experience not only with an HD TV with a screen, but the relationship is this. If I have a DVD with a widescreen presentation, in particular the work, or a foreign film, subtitles are a must. Now subtitles appear in two ways: a large screen in DVD format: (1) All words are within the image or (2) all or some of the words in the black area below the image.

If I choose the 4:3 screen format on the Panasonic HD TV, the subtitles are pretty good nowNo matter where they are. But when I use the screen with the image where the image goes from top to bottom, without subtitles disappear below the image to fill.

I was told by my dealer that this is a problem of all is flat, wide-screen TVs now, because they are designed without any thought of all DVD subtitles.

Look where I need is this: is there a way to set a compromise to show the entire screen with subtitles to get, or is it just a defect of this model – orIn all other HD-TV?

I want to thank in advance who can help me.

Incredible deal, Amazon!! – Reviewer – USA
I bought this as an Amazon Gold Box deal for $ 380 shipped in February. At that price, I thought it was to take one. Four months later, I still can not believe what has been a great TV This! I can certainly understand complaints peoples' Who is a good speaker is not projecting, but I have my TV up to 25 years, through headphones connected to the stereo receiver to RCA cable and I do not remember. I believe that the lack of analog / RCA audio is a bit 'boring, but the headphone jackworks perfectly well. I also plugged my computer via DVI-HDMI, which can display nearly the full 1920×1080 resolution. I also have a 1080th Philips DVP3962 upconverting DVD player connected via HDMI, and watch all my movies in standard definition is good. The glossy black surface is fairly easy to catch dust, but I suspect it's not exactly alone this television. Clear QAM would be a nice feature too, but for the price and quality, I can not complain really!

Bought TV for the bedroom. It 's a great picture and excellent sound quality. A great feature is the automatic image setup environment room lighting according struggle with the image change when you flip on the side table lamp. The color factory presets actually support the view proposed, such as: environment similar to movie film.
The only thing that this sentence is not that I like, is a / IP Ethernet. Otherwise, I am very happy.A number of HDMI ports.

Nice TV – M. J. Kessler – Georgetown, TX
TV now works great. However, he came with a defect on the screen – three dots visible blue (1 / 4 to 1 / 8 inch in diameter) is about 9 cm apart in the middle of the screen, and a pattern of tiny blue dots, that seemed the Milky Way. Panasonic I referred to their service center, where the TV repaired (replaced the panel) was.

Customer Review

I bought the Panasonic 32 "LCD TV from Amazon.com, and the price was right, delivery was fast and the product arrived in good shape. I had problems setting the great unity and color. The sound is great and without problems arose. It 'was good, with job Amazon and madness so I'll give this TV two great quality and performance (it's worth buying). I especially like how simple this LCD TV is designed to my old analog TV Sony comparison, felt like a ton.

Nearly two years from purchase… – Stargzn – United States
I admire this TV – with sound quality, crisp and clear (without HD) and is perfect for easy programming and changing settings, but …. I have a huge problem. The on / off button on top is rarely used, as I start this with my TV remote control 98% of the time. Last month, with remote control for on / off has been patchy at best. When it comes to work (Yes, I have not changed batteries) do not have access to plug the device to reset the brain inside. EWell, this is not reset each time. I tried to turn it on by pressing the button manually, but does not work, "click" and is completely useless. I continued to pull and look for the remote again and again, and sometimes connect onward. I'm afraid I'm on a very expensive repair for something that was to last for years (the picture would look good for 60 years. I do not give a darn good little 'when you turn on your device!) Of course I do not buy the' extraWarranty. Geez. Anyone else this problem? If yes, what is the solution? Thank you. I do not mean that someone does not get this great television, but you need to ask these parts cheap. It is a crime.

Panasonic 32″ TV – D. Larson – Chandler, AZ
This is a great TV. The sound is good and what is most important to you from the screen angles range and the image remains clear. Very few other LCD TVs offer this plus.
